Ultimate Early Game Loot Farming Guide for Haga Basin South in Dune: Awakening

Updated: Jun 22, 2025

Welcome to the ultimate guide for gearing up fast in Dune: Awakening! In this post, we’re diving deep into Haga Basin South, showing you exactly where to find the best weapons, armor, and utility schematics—and more importantly, how to farm them efficiently.

Whether you're exploring PvE or PvP zones, this farming loop will help you unlock the most overpowered gear early on. Let’s get started at Griffin’s Reach Tradepost and work our way through a powerful loot circuit.

⚙️ What You Need Before You Start

  • Sandbike – recommended for faster travel

  • Water supply – essential for survival

  • Fuel – keep extra on hand for your sandbike

This loop is doable on foot, but a vehicle will greatly speed up your runs.

🏁 1. Old Griffin Hideaway – Way of the Fallen Schematic

Location: Very close to Griffin’s Reach Tradepost

Loot Highlight: Way of the Fallen (Maula Pistol Upgrade)

This powerful schematic upgrades your Maula Pistol with:

  • Auto-reloading mechanism

  • 10.4 damage per shot

  • Clip size: 24

  • Reload: 1.2s

  • Range: 38m

  • Low accuracy, high stability

Also, check the surrounding chests in the cave—you might find additional useful loot.

🛡️ 2. Dewgap Gateway – Hollower Stillsuit Set

Location: Short distance from Griffin’s Reach

Loot Highlight: Full Hollower Stillsuit Set (gloves, mask, garment, boots)

This stillsuit offers:

  • Armor: 64 (vs. only 6 from early scavenger suits)

  • Heat Protection: 0.3

While only one schematic drops at a time, this set is game-changing early on. Gloves and masks seem to drop more frequently, while boots are rarer.

🔫 3. Broken Stone Station – Aren’s Vengeance

Location: South-central part of the map

Loot Highlight: Aren’s Vengeance (Burst Fire Rifle)

A deadly burst-fire rifle resembling a classic Halo BR:

  • 7.8 damage per shot

  • Clip size: 30

  • Outclasses the Karpov 38 (6 damage, 20 clip)

Also, this spot contains spice-infused copper dust, useful for crafting and upgrades. The schematic chest is located just up the stairs—be mindful of a mine in the room.

🪨 4. Keyhole Rock – Old Sparky Mk1, Sim’s Cutter, Sandbike Engine Mk1

Location: Near Broken Stone Station

Loot Highlights:

  • Old Sparky Mk1 – fast-recharging power pack

  • Sim’s Cutter – improved resource yield

  • Mohandis Sandbike Engine Mk1 – top speed: 93 km/h (vs. 70 km/h stock)

This is a great spot for upgrading both your mobility and resource gathering capabilities.

💧 5. Rock Mound South of Wreck of the Alcyon – Hajra Literjon Mk1

Location: Unmarked; southeast of the Wreck of the Alcyon

Loot Highlight: Hajra Literjon Mk1 (Water Container)

  • 6 water slots (vs. 4 in the default Leagen)

  • 1,500 container capacity

Climb the rock face—come from the east side for easier stamina recovery. Watch for a mine at the top.

🗡️ 6. Wreck of the Alcyon – Kaleff’s Drinker

Location: Easily found during quests

Loot Highlight: Kaleff’s Drinker (Short Knife / Kindjal)

Stats:

  • 10.9 damage per hit

  • Auto-extracts enemy blood

  • Attack Speed: 139

It’s a direct upgrade over the copper Kindjal (7.2 damage). The schematic is in a large chest, beside a purple identifier band.

🧥 7. Rock Mound NW of Alcyon – Aren’s Light Armor Set

Location: Unmarked, northwest of Wreck of the Alcyon

Loot Highlight: Aren’s Light Armor (chest, gloves, mask, pants, boots)

This set vastly improves on early scavenger gear and is easy to grab without any combat. Only one schematic drops per visit, so repeat farming may be needed.

🛸 8. Imperial Testing Station No. 2 – The Emperor’s Wings Mk1

Location: Visited during early quests

Loot Highlight: The Emperor’s Wings Mk1 (Suspensor Belt)

A utility item for double-jump floating. Tap jump twice to activate. This location is well-known and easy to loot.

🔁 Farming Strategy Summary

Once you complete the full loop, head back to Griffin’s Reach Tradepost and begin again. This repeatable route allows you to:

  • Farm every best-in-slot early-game schematic

  • Choose the locations that still have schematics you’re missing

  • Save time and level up fast

🧭 Final Thoughts

Mastering the Haga Basin South loot loop is one of the best ways to gain an edge in both PvE and PvP in Dune: Awakening. With powerful weapons like Aren’s Vengeance and game-changing gear like the Hollower Stillsuit, you’ll be ready for anything Arrakis throws at you.
